This November, EML was able to present at Learning Design and Digital Innovation’s 2024 TEC Expo. Featuring both an in-person showcase and two days of digital presentations, the TEC Expo provides an opportunity for the UBC Community to learn more about incoming innovations in education, pedagogy, and student-facing programs.
Tasked with finding a project that emphasized how technology could enhance creativity, EML decided to showcase our Procedural Poetry Funhouse project, as by combining virtual reality with ethically used AI, the project allows users to learn by playing; incorporating their creativity, talent, and knowledge to create poetry that alters the spaces around them, learning the process behind poetry in a beautiful, user-conscious, collaboratively built immersive experience.
Other projects featured at the Expo include an Immersive Clinical Experience created by the Faculty of Medicine, AI Enhanced Learning Platforms from both Medicine and UBC Launchpad, and how to gamify learning about economics. Thank you to the Faculty of Education and LDDI for welcoming us to this event.
