Intro to Immersive Media Development

Have you experienced virtual reality and augmented reality? Have you tried out our projects and wanted to know how it is all made?

You could get a behind the scenes look into the development of VR/AR/MR with the Emerging Media Lab’s workshop series. The first workshop will be an Introduction to Immersive Media Development where you will learn the basics of how to create 3D objects and develop interactions between them. This will be a beginner level, pre-requisite session for the rest of the series such as creating Google Cardboard experiences.

In the Introduction to Immersive Media Development workshop, you will learn:

  • To model simple objects in Blender
  • To create interactions between 3D objects in Unity
  • To combine the above to build a “game”

When you come, bring the following items:

  • Your laptop with the following software installed – make sure to install the correct versions of the software. (If you don’t know what version of Unity your team is using, install the latest version. If you do know what version of Unity that your team is using, then please install the version that your team is using.)
