Do you want to create a 360 Google Cardboard experience with your phone?

The Emerging Media Lab presents a Google Cardboard workshop in collaboration with the AMS Game Development Association – Google Cardboard is a low-fidelity virtual reality headset that brings immersive experiences to everyone in a simple and affordable way all in the palm of your hand.

In Development for Google Cardboard workshop, you will learn:

  • To create 360 environment with your phone and/or 360 camera
  • To teleport to different VR environments
  • To create features such as buttons, text boxes and audio

When you come, please bring the following items:

  • A mouse for your laptop
  • Enthusiasm to learn!
  • Your phone: Android phone (Android 4.4 ‘Kit Kat’ (API level 19) or higher) or iPhone ( iPhone 5 or higher, running iOS 8 or higher.
  • Your laptop with below installed/ downloaded on your machine
    • Unity 2017.3.0: download here
    • Google Cardboard SDK: download here
    • If you have an iPhone – xCode from the App store on your computer
    • If you have an Andriod – Andriod Studio: download here
    • If you have an Android – Latest Java JDK: download here
  • Google StreetView on your phone: iPhone/Android

Refer to this documentation to get help with what and how to install the softwares.

If you happen to have an iPhone and a Windows machine, unfortunately you will not be able to export it to your iPhone.
