Spatial computing, which incorporates both Virtual & Augmented Reality, is technology that is already fundamentally changing how we experience, learn, teach and even offer treatments. It’s applications are, however, not limited to the realm of humans. Join veterinary surgeon and technologist, Dr Chris Shivelton Queen, The Nerdy Vet, as he explores the myriad ways that this exciting technology is impacting animal healthcare.

Biography:

Dr Chris has been a small animal veterinarian since graduating from the University of Bristol, UK in 2007. Since then he has practiced in both the UK and, currently, Dubai, in both first opinion practice and emergency clinics. His fascination with technology and it’s potential to positively impact the veterinary sector started early and has, to date, seen him co-develop pet healthcare apps before delving into Virtual and Augmented Reality. Dr Chris has spoken at a number of industry events both here in North America and the Middle East, and is currently spending time in Vancouver to learn more about the development process & work on veterinary teaching applications using spatial computing. When he is not being ‘vetty’ or ‘techy’ he can usually be found skydiving or running his next ultra marathon.
