UBC AR Explore

Wendy Traas and Alex Kuskowski, UBC Library

 

UBC AR Explore is an open source augmented reality app for use at the UBC Education Library and Chapman Learning Commons at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. The AR scanner uses the camera of an iOS device to provide overlaid AR menu links to digital resources to support library literacy.

TeleSpider Robot

After the most recent demonstration of Archiact’s hexapod robot at the CVR in May, the research group extended the TeleSpider towards an interactive versions. The ultimate goal is to move both a virtual Spider in synchrony with the physical robot. He presented some of their roadblocks and solutions.
